Wireless Lavalier microphone for iPhone

Score: 10/10

This Lavalier lapel microphone is superb! It comes in a hard zipped storage case to protect itself and keeps all the accessories together. In the box is a USB cable for charging the mic (the receiver does not require charging), a receiver and the microphone itself.

After I had charged the mic, I plugged the receiver straight into my iPhone 14 without removing my phone from its case. I clipped the mic to my t-shirt, opened the phone and opened the Voice Memo app. I pressed the microphone’s power button and started a recording. The sound quality and volume of the recording at normal speaking volume is superb and, being hands-free as it comes with a clip, I was free to concentrate on my recording.

If your iPhone is low on power, the receiver has a lightning port on one side, allowing you to charge your phone whilst continuing to use the mic. This is a wonderful addition and one that I know will prove to be useful in the future. I host a radio show and I needed a good quality microphone to do this, and I am thrilled with the one I have found. I received this item through the Amazon Vine scheme.

The microphone is lightweight but sturdy and the sound quality is better than I could have hoped for. I am seriously impressed with this. There was no setting up or installing of any extra apps required and, being wireless, it gave me the freedom to move whilst I was recording.

Fun automated cat toy

Score: 10/10

I received this cat toy as part of my Amazon Vine membership. I have wanted a mechanical cat toy for a few years and this does not disappoint.
In the box you receive a USB cable for charging the toy (so no need to constantly be searching for new batteries when it runs out of power), the orange toy and 2 heads with rope attached. Attaching the rope to the orange toy is very simple, it just clicks into place and you’re ready to go. Charging takes around 2 hours from empty.
On first powering the toy on, it enters Fast mode which, in my hand, looked incredibly fast and aggressive. However, when on the floor the level of activity makes sense as it flicks and rolls itself around the floor. Press the power button once and it enters a slower mode for a more sedate action.
I used this toy mainly on the Interactive mode where it lays dormant but starts moving when a cat moves it or pounces on it.
At first my cat was skeptical and unsure of the new ‘alien creature’ that was in our living room, but soon she was sniffing and poking it. As she got used to the toy, she began to stalk it and pounce on it. I have used it in Interactive mode for 48 hours straight and it still has charge left and it definitely holds my cat’s attention when she wants to play. The fact that it is rechargeable is a huge bonus for me.
The ropes are securely attached to the toy and look hardwearing.
It’s fun, even if my wife commented that it ‘looks like an alien!’
